Setup
The primary way to set up this game is for four teams.
- Place a bean bag with a bowling pin on top in the middle of your game area.
- Then create four lanes in each direction by placing two rows of five cones for each team.
- Place one ball at the start of the
- Each team will line up within their lane, facing the bowling pin at the center.
There are different variations that you can use to set up this game. If you do not place a bowling pin and bean bag, you can line up each team beside each other.
How to play Tunnel Ball Relay
- Five players from each team stand in a single file inside their
lane, facing the center of the game area where the bowling pin is located. - The first player for each team holds the ball. You can place a lanyard or bracelet on the first player so you can keep up with where they are in the line.
- When the whistle blows, the first player rolls the ball between their legs and through a tunnel made of their teammates’ legs. (The ball does not need to be touched by every player. It just has to roll between their legs.)
- When the ball reaches the last player, they grab the ball and run to the front of the line while the other players step back one position.
- The next player then rolls the ball back through the tunnel to the last player. This action continues until the first player (with the lanyard) is the last player in line. When they get the ball from the tunnel, they pick the ball up and run to the center to grab the pin or bean bag.
The first team to finish and grab the bowling pin is the winner, and the one who picks up the bean bag is the second-place winner.
Variations
If you do not use the bowling pin and bean bag, then the winning team is the fastest team to finish.
