Setup
Form a circle with the participants.
How to play Hot Potato
Participants pass the bean bag around the circle until the game’s leader tells them to stop. This can be done by playing music and then turning it off, or by having the leader yell stop while not looking. The person holding the bean bag sits out. The game continues until there is a winner.
Variations
- Add more than one bean bag to the game. This is a great way to get more people out in a single round. For example, playing with five bean bags when you have a group of 40-50 people. You can either have five winners or reduce the number of bean bags when the remaining participants become fewer.
- If you are playing with teams, then the remaining participants can earn points for their team if they make it to the final round. This can be more than one if you are playing with more than one bean bag.
